The beginning of NATO:
In 1947-1948, a series of events caused Western European nations to worry about their physical and political security and the United States became heavily involved in European affairs. NATO’s conventional defense mechanism is working to put the whole of Western Europe under the “nuclear umbrella” of the United States.
What is NATO?
Nato – the North Atlantic Treaty Organization – is a military alliance formed in 1949 by 12 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK and France.
Members agree to assist each other in the event of an armed attack in any member state.
Its original purpose was to counter the threat of Russia’s post-war expansion. In 1955 Soviet Russia responded to Nato by establishing its own Communist alliance in eastern Europe called the Warsaw Pact.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, several Warsaw Pact nations changed sides and became members of Nato. The federation now has 30 members . NATO is an intergovernmental organization that provides a forum for members to discuss any issue they may choose to raise and make decisions on political and military issues affecting their security.
No single member state is compelled to rely solely on its national strength to meet its critical national security goals. The effect of shared security between members contributes to stability in the Euro-Atlantic region. NATO’s mission is to ensure the freedom and security of its members through political and military means.
NATO’s missions :-

- It provides the highest level of guidance on the political and military strategies that will be used to achieve these goals and remains the basis for the implementation of Alliance policy as a whole.
Nato’s response to Russia’s invasion?
Nato has rejected calls for non-air force, saying that could lead to a direct confrontation with Russia.Nato member states such as Britain have already sent weapons to help Ukraine fight the Russian invasion. The EU says it will provide hundreds of millions of pounds to help Ukraine.Russia has put its nuclear forces “on special alert” to fight what they call Nato violence.
Why does Nato not intervene?
Ukraine is not a member of Nato, so the alliance is not obliged to be protected. Only the “partner” country, which means there is an understanding that may join you at some point in the future.
Nato countries have also made it clear that if their troops confront Russian troops in Ukraine, it could lead to a conflict involving Russia and the west.

Will Nato set up a non-fly space?
Nato also refused to place a no-fly zone over Ukraine, denying Russia’s height in the air and protecting civilians.One of the reasons is that it wants to avoid conflict between Russia and its air force. Another reason is that Nato planes, which are trying to protect themselves from attack, may need to shoot anti-aircraft missiles (ARMs) when radar is installed in Russia.
